Calling is live

It’s time to call your royal band. You can email your pick to: sacramentohalloweenshow@gmail.com Put your band in the subject line. In the body of the email tell us your name and, if the connection to royalty is a stretch, your reasoning of how you fit into the theme. You have until Wednesday, June 26th at midnight to call a band. You can only call one band. Here are the rules: 1)       No existing bands can call a band – mix it up. Get out, meet new people, place a Craigslist ad for a trumpet player, learn to play the bass. That’s what this show is all about. 2)       Your set is 12 minutes 3)       You can only call one band. 4)       There has been a rule of no repeat bands (bands that have played in past Halloween shows); this rule is temporarily repealed for the 2024 Halloween show. After the calling closes, we will announce the list of bands on June 28th. At that point you will have to re-call your band. Historical...

Royalty

The theme is…….drum roll….ROYALTY! Let’s get regal, Sac! Your band must have a strong connection to royalty. Think kings and queens, yes, but also lesser titles of royalty all the way down (earls? viscounts?). The royal title could be in the name of the band, or it could be the first or last name (real or assumed) of the leader of the band. Nicknames are ok, but they must be widely known and accepted. Think: Carole King, Queens of the Stone Age, everybody knows Elvis is The King, etc. etc. Be creative! Some logistics: Saturday, August 31 st , Red Museum, 212 15 th st.  All ages.  Start time: TBD depending on number of bands – pretty early, but not, like, noon, jeez. We will keep you hydrated and fed.
